She Plays to Win

An event designed for girls of 18 years old or less who do not have an ECF or FIDE rating. ideally, this will be their first of one of their first tournaments.

Results: Hampshire EJCOA National Junior Championships Qualifier 2023

Forty eight children started play in the 2023 EJCOA Qualifier at the Badger Farm on Sunday February, 12th.

The Under 8s were merged into the U10 section due to insufficient entries.

You will notice they are submitted as Standard Play whereas they should be Rapid Play. We are having this corrected.

We invited all junior chess players who are under 20 years of age to compete in the Hampshire qualifier for the National Youth Championships organised by the English Junior Coaches and Organisers Association (EJCOA).

This will be on Sunday, February 12th 2023 at the Badger Farm Community Centre, Winchester.

The cost of entry is £30 and the event has five rounds of rapidplay chess that are ECF rated.

THE UKI Girls and Boys Chess Championships 2017

The UKI Girls and Boys Chess Championships will be held on Saturday 24th June at Grey Court Secondary School, Ham Street, Ham, Richmond TW10 7HN.
This will be an individual competition as well as a school team competition; the competition is open to all children in the UK and Ireland, you can enter as a school team or an individual.

Girls Sections: U7, U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U14, U18
Boys Sections : U7, U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U14, U18 (plus adult mixed novice)

School prizes: There will be gold, silver and bronze trophies for the top three girl’s schools and the top three boy’s schools according to the scores of their top 4 players.
Trophies will also be awarded to overall champions, plus rosettes for those scoring 11 points or more. Scoring will be 3 for a win, 2 points for a draw and 1 point for a loss. Please note no one is knocked out all 5 rounds will be played.

Entry fee £20 (additional family members playing £15 each) A late entry fee of an additional £5 will be applied to all entries received after the closing date of Wednesday 21st June. Please book early to avoid disappointment.

Refreshments: Hot and cold food will be available to purchase at the venue.
Parking: Free parking is available at the venue all day.
