DESCRIPTION:The Under 9 Zone for South East England will be held on Saturday 28th February 2025 \nA team shall consist of twelve (12) players plus up to four (4) reserves. \nU11 is 1/9/14 or later; U9 is 1/9/16 or later \nThe organiser of the South zone is Maha Chandar\, who will circulate further details. \nThe venue is:  St. Swithun’s School\, Alresford Road\, Winchester\, Hampshire\, SO21 1HA \nThe six teams competing will be Hampshire and Somerset\, Buckinghamshire\, Sussex\, Barnet & Richmond \nEPSCA rules can be found on the website http://www.epsca.org.uk/rules/rules.html \nParents or approved adults are responsible for their children outside the playing hall. \nPlease note the following rules\, which have recently been altered or clarified: – \nThere will five (5) rounds. \nThe rate of play is all moves in 15 minutes plus 10 seconds per move from the start.  If digital clocks are not available\, the rate of play is all moves in 40 minutes. \nIf either player has less than five minutes left on the clock and an illegal move is made\, the Arbiter may award the opponent two minutes for the first offence\, and two minutes for a second offence.  Three illegal moves during the game by the same player will lead to the loss of the game. \nThe timetable is as follows: \nArrival – by 11.00am \nBoard Stewards Meeting – 11.15am \nFirst Round – 11.45am \nSecond Round – 1.25pm \nThird Round – 3.05pm \nFourth round – \nFifth round – \nPrize Giving – 4.50pm \nIf play is running late\, there will be at least 10 minutes between rounds. \n Save as PDF

PRIZES:  determined by the entrants’ age on 31st August 2017. Under 8\, Under 10 and Under 12:  Trophies for the 1st\, 2nd\, 3rd and 4th places and the best girl in each age group. Under 14\, Under 16 and Under 18:   1st place: £30\,  2nd place: £20\,  3rd place: £10\,  best girl: £20  and trophies for the winners in each age group. These are guaranteed prizes. With enough entries\, prizes may be increased at the Congress Controller’s discretion. SECTIONS:  Age groups will be combined into playing sections and notified before round 1.
